How Does PDF to JPG Conversion Work?
The converter loads your PDF directly in your browser using PDF.js — an industry-standard open-source PDF rendering engine developed by Mozilla. Each page you select is rendered to a canvas at the chosen resolution, painted on a solid white background, and encoded as a JPEG image using your browser's native image encoder. Because this all happens locally, your file never leaves your device and Sigify's servers never see a single byte of your document.
Does Converting PDF to JPG Reduce Quality?
JPEG is a "lossy" format, which means the encoder discards a small amount of fine detail to keep file sizes reasonable. You stay in control of that trade-off: choose "High Quality" for the cleanest output (largest files), "Balanced" for everyday use, or "Smaller File" when compact output matters more than perfection. The resolution selector (72 / 96 / 150 / 200 / 300 DPI) controls pixel dimensions — higher DPI equals more pixels and more visible detail.
Can I Convert Only Selected Pages?
Yes. Every page of your PDF is shown as a thumbnail tile with a checkbox after the file loads. Click a tile to toggle it, or use the "Select All" and "Deselect All" shortcuts. With the "Convert Selected Pages" mode, only the pages you keep checked turn into JPG files.
