Why convert JPG to PNG?

How the conversion works
When you add JPG files, Sigify reads each one as a File, loads it into an Image element (or createImageBitmap where available), paints the decoded bitmap onto an off-screen <canvas>, then calls canvas.toBlob('image/png') to produce a true PNG Blob. That Blob is wrapped in an Object URL so you can preview the result and download it with a single click. Filenames are preserved automatically, with the extension safely switched from .jpg / .jpeg to .png.
Transparency and JPEG
JPEG itself is an opaque format — it has no alpha channel. Where the source is naturally transparent (logos with cut-outs edited inside a JPEG workflow), the converter paints it onto a chosen background (Transparent, White, or Custom) before exporting the PNG so the output looks the way you expect. This does not "recover" transparency that was already discarded by JPEG compression.
